God loves it when we praise Him! Did you know that in Hebrew (the original language of the Old Testament) there are actually 8 words for praise? In this series, we'll learn about each of those words and how we can put them into practice.
8 Ways to Praise
Week 17 - May 30, 2021
Last week we introduced the Hebrew praise word ruwa. Ruwa refers to shouting, a war cry, an alarm for battle. This week we will look at Ruwa as it relates to the story of Joshua and the walls of Jericho.
Memory Verse: “Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout (ruwa) to God with the voice of triumph!” - Psalm 47:1
Week 16 - May 23, 2021
The last two weeks we talked about Shabach, which means shouting for victory. This week we will focus on another type of shouting: ruwa - a war cry, an alarm for battle. Ruwa also means to shout with a joyful spirit.

Week 15 - May 16, 2021
Last week we talked about shabach in its second meaning - to still or soothe. This week we will focus on its primary meaning - to shout for victory.
Memory Verse: “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” Psalm 145:4
Week 14 - May 09, 2021
This week we are learning our seventh Hebrew word for praise: shabach (sha-BAKH). Shabach means to praise the Lord with triumph; to glory in the Lord; to praise Him with a shout.

Week 13 - May 02, 2021
This week we continue to learn about our sixth Hebrew word for praise: Tehillah (teh-hil-LAH). Tehillah comes from the word hallelujah. It means singing with your voice in an unrehearsed song.
Memory Verse: “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise (tehillah) to Our God.” - Psalms 40:3a
Week 12 - April 25, 2021

This week we learn about the word halal with the story of King David dancing before the ark of the Lord.

Week 6 - March 07, 2021
This week we learn about halal. Halal means to shine; to boast or brag in the Lord; to be clamorously foolish. Halal is the root word of “Hallelujah”.

Week 5 - February 28, 2021
This week we continue to learn about yadah. Yadah (yah-DAH) means “the hands of praise”; praising and giving thanks with extended hands.

Week 3 - February 14, 2021
This week kids learn about how Paul and Silas chose to towdah even when they were being mistreated. Towdah is vertical thanksgiving--putting God in His proper place, above us, on the throne.

Week 2 - February 7, 2021
This week we learn about the Hebrew word towdah (toe-DAH). It is vertical thanksgiving--putting God in His proper place, above us, on the throne.

Week 1 - January 31, 2021
This week is the intro week to the new series, 8 Ways to Praise. Kids will learn about the importance of praise and be introduced to the 8 Hebrew words for praise.
